Afridi Fastest Hundred made with Sachin's Bat!!!

It is common knowledge that Pakistan's Shahid Afridi holds the record for a 37-ball one-day century; but not many know that it came off the blade of Sachin Tendulkar's bat.

Speaking to Gulf News, Afridi said that his 37-ball hundred against Sri Lanka in Nairobi, in his very first one-day innings, came off the bat of the modern day's greatest batsman.

"I had just got into the Pakistan team and during nets in Nairobi 'Wicky Bhai' [Waqar Younis] gave me a bat and said, play with this and see. It is Sachin's bat," said the charismatic Pakistan all-rounder, here playing the Chapal Cup series against Australia.

"I tried it out it; it felt good and played with it in my first ever one-dayer. I scored that innings of 100 in 37 balls with the same bat," said Afridi, who was 16 years and 217 days when he entered the record books on October 4, 1996. Afridi, who is one of the most popular players among the Pakistani stars, had belted 11 sixes and six fours in that 37-ball innings which is still the world record for being the fastest ODI century.

Afridi went on to explain how Sachin's bat had landed with Younis. "It was a great honor for me to play with Sachin's bat for he was a great player. Sachin had given the bat to 'Wicky Bhai' and had asked him to get a similar bat made in Sialkot for him [Sachin]," Afridi said.

"Of course I have also got out on zero with that bat. Now it is with me and sometime back people told me to auction it but I still have kept it with me," said Afridi.

Sachin's bats... His pads... His gloves... His clothes... His touch... His presence... His thought... Everything inspires people to do great things! Even player like Afridi could make wonder when he played with Sachin’s bat!!!

10 Reasons why I hate Sachin Tendulkar

I hate this man, Yes, I hate SACHIN TENDULKAR very much. You wonder why I hate him?THese are the Ten Reasons why I hate Sachin Tendulkar...

1. He always plays a brilliant innings before my exam and hence doesn’t let me study!

2. Every time that I think of becoming an atheist, he gets into the nineties and I have no choice but to pray!

3. Every time I take a resolution not to bite my nails, he gets into the nineties and I am left with no choice but to chew on my nails!

4. He keeps all the records to himself!

5. He makes a lot more money and fame than me!

6. He costs way too much on ‘super selector’ but since I have to pick him, the rest of my team gets weakened!

7. During a match, invariably when I want to go to the bathroom, he hits a boundary and hence I have no choice but to sit and watch the replay!

8. As soon as I convince myself that God does not exist, he plays a straight drive and proves me wrong!

9. He brings the whole country to a standstill whenever he bats!

And the last and the biggest reason why I hate Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar …

10. He is going to retire sometime in the future!!!

Government is fooling public on Oil rates by Advt

Government of India today issued a News paper advertisement: it is fooling the public that it cost in India cheap for Kerosene and LPG Cylinder and has put up rates from neighboring countries as a marker. These rates on close scrutiny were exchange rates of Indian Rupee with those currencies.

That is 345 INR will buy 851 Lankan Rupees which is given in that advertisement. What a fraud government and it is cheating its own citizens.

Shame on the UPA Government!!!

Other Face of Terrorism

The student union of Aliah University of Kolkata issued “Fatwa” to all female students to wear “Burqa”& did not spare the women Guest Lecturers.

It came to news when Trinamool Congress Student Union AGS Hasanujjaman threatened the Bengali Lecturer Smt Shirin Midya to wear “Burqa” which she denied. Smt Midya went to Vice Chancellor Samsul Alam, Registrar Dr. Anwar Hossain & they took no action. Rather they advised Midya not to go to the University. She then went to Minister of Minority affairs of West Bengal Government, Abdus Sattar, who transferred her to the Library at the Salt Lake City Campus.

Now the points are:

1) By transferring Smt. Midya, Government & University authority indirectly supported the “Fatwa”.

2) One Lecturer was transferred but other lecturers, who did not protest in fear, were compelled to wear ‘Burqa’ including women from other religion.

Registrar said, “There is no dress code in UGC, women should wear descent dresses.”

Now my questions- 'Is Burqa is the only decent dress??'

In a recent judgment, Hon’ble Kolkata High Court gave judgment that authority has nothing to say about dress code in educational Institute. In this context, it is worth mentioning that, Madrasa Authority, in many places of West Bengal is not accepting non-muslim teachers although they are carrying valid appointment letter.

Personally I feel 'Burqa' is the 'MOST INDECENT' Dress a woman can wear. What ever it is, as a Secular country, we cannot accept such things in India and should be avoided.

1GOAL: Education for all

Today, 72 million children around the world are denied the chance to go to school!!
1GOAL is a campaign seizing the power of football to ensure that education for all is a lasting impact of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. By bringing together footballers and fans, charities and organisations around the world, together FIFA call on world leaders to make education a reality for 72 million children by 2015. These children could be the NEXT generation’s leaders, sport stars, doctors and teachers. But without an education they are confined to a life of poverty.

Hundreds of footballers, celebrities and world leaders have pledged their support for 1GOAL. Grammy Award-winning artist and philanthropist Shakira has become a 1GOAL ambassador so as th Famous footballers Robinjo, Essian, Rio Ferdinand and more. Earlier, IPL franchise MUmbai Indians announced such a programme during the 3rd edition of IPL. Let's hope it will bring a change.
